Number 42 of Purple Magazine , titled The Magic Issue , addresses the notion of magic as an alternative to rationalist approaches to everyday reality. Edited by Olivier Zahm, this issue questions the capacity of magic to re-enchant our modern world.
Within its 512 pages, the magazine features a series of articles and interviews with iconic figures such as Patti Smith and David Lynch, as well as reflections on the work of thinkers such as Michel Foucault and Carl Jung. There are also essays on topics such as superstitions in the world of couture, and a contribution from Björk. This issue also includes the second edition of the supplement Purple Residence , highlighting the work of American artist Elizabeth Glaessner, currently in residence at Le Corbusier's Unité d'Habitation in Marseille.
